Can you help out?

The BHS Hants Committee is made up of a team of volunteers who meet 5 times a year to co-ordinate activities in the county in areas such as Access, Welfare, Riding and Road Safety, Events, Campaigns and Training.

However we need more help to get the good news out to horse owners in the County.

We are looking for people who can spare a little time for the following activities

If you could spare a little time for any of these activities - from once a year to once every few months

then please get in touch!

Reporting of Equestrian Incidents

We hope that you will always be safe when you ride out, but however cautious we are, accidents happen. Unfortunately, every year a high number of equestrian incidents go unrecorded. If no-one knows about them, nothing can be done.

Without hard evidence and hard statistics it is impossible to lobby those in power to make the changes that are required to ensure riding is safer for all. Sharing your experience could make a huge difference – together we can FIGHT FOR CHANGE.

Win Mark Rashid Clinic tickets

American horseman, author and clinician Mark Rashid strives to work with horses in a way that preserves those essential parts of their nature: their power, their sensitivity, their subtlety and their desire to get along. Mark Rashid studies and trains in the ancient Japanese martial art of Aikido (which translated, means way of harmony), and incorporates the ideologies practiced in Aikido into his work with his horses and his students.

Mark is holding clinics in the UK in May 2012. In Hampshire there will be 2 horsemanship clinics and an Aikido for Horsemen workshop for those interested in exploring the relationship between horsemanship and martial arts (participants only). Not only a quiet, humble, and respectful person and horseman, Mark is also an outstanding and patient teacher and coach.   Full details can be found at http://www.amandabarton.co.uk/pages/mark.htm
